Arons Hardware was established in (Potgietersrus) Mokopane in July 1991 by Haroon Chaya. Mr Chaya was previously a partner at Mohamedy’s (1976 - 1990), and E.H. Hassim (1971 - 1975). It was here that he first recognized the need for a specialist supplier of goods and services to the Industrial, Mining and Engineering sectors, hence the establishment of Arons Hardware.

Arons Hardware was established with only 6 staff members. Today the organisation has approximately 335 staff members with a combined business management experience of over 100 years, all of whom come from previously disadvantaged communities.

1996 – Sold Energy Bricks
1996 – Acquisition of Bearing Man Agency branch
1998 – Establishment of Arons Hardware
1998 – Acquired Coastal Tool Hire Franchise for Pietersburg
1999 – Disposed of bearing Man Agency Branch
2000 – Opening of clothing Division at Arons
2002 – Established Arons Construction
2003 – Sold Arons Pietersburg and Coastal Tool hire
2003 – Expansion of Arons Hardware
2003 – Acquired adjacent property
2015 – Upgrades done to Arons Hardware Store

Future
Arons is continuously on the lookout for new opportunities for expansion within the Limpopo Province. Our commitment to building South Africa undimmed and we look forward to establishing strategic partners in new ventures
